“Anxiety is a state of full body disequilibrium at a level of intensity that demands immediate attention and corrective action on your part. It can be in the face of a real or perceived threat, either present or anticipated.”
— Faith G Harper

The Cycle Effect of Anxiety
Anxiety can affect so many areas of life, from the physical (racing heart, chest tightness, sleep disruption and restlessness) to the emotional/mental (feeling overwhelmed by everyday tasks; sense of impending doom, catastrophic thinking and making it hard to concentrate and make decisions) to the behavioural (avoiding situations that trigger anxiety). There are many more examples than these but this is enough for now! You’ll be more than familiar with your own unique blend.
The Impact of Anxiety
Pain points caused by anxiety can have a huge impact on life; straining relationships, and causing lots of missed opportunities due to fear. Other impacts include feeling isolated, a diminished sense of spontaneity and joy, reduced work/academic fulfilment and a feeling of disconnection from one’s authentic self.
